This presentation provides an overview of the National Center for Special Education Research (NCSER) within the Institute of Education Sciences (IES) and highlights its mission to fund rigorous, evidence-based research to improve outcomes for children and youth with or at risk for disabilities. It describes NCSER’s major research focus areas—ranging from early intervention and learning to transition and systems-level policy—as well as the types of projects it supports, including measurement, exploration, development and innovation, and impact studies.
