Purpose

The purpose of this module is to provide information and content related to Inclusive Learning Environments. Aiming to expand the knowledge base and capacity of pre-professionals, educators, and service providers, this module embeds the following topics:

  • Defining and Measuring Inclusive Learning Environments
  • Leadership in Inclusive Learning Environments
  • Family Voice in Inclusive Learning Environments
  • IFSP & IEP Planning in Inclusive Learning Environments
  • Teaming in Inclusive Learning Environments
  • Universal and Targeted Supports in Inclusive Environments

Objectives

As a result of active participation and successful completion of course requirements, students will be able to:

  • Evaluate and support inclusive early childhood environments using evidence-based frameworks.
  • Design family-centered advocacy resources to support inclusive education.
  • Analyze systemic and instructional barriers to inclusion and propose actionable solutions.

Understand and articulate how to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop inclusive opportunities for infants and young children with disabilities
