Purpose

The purpose of this module is to provide information and content related to Advanced Research Methods. Aiming to expand the knowledge base and capacity of pre-professionals, educators, and service providers, this module embeds the following topics:

  • Conducting International and Cross-Cultural Research
  • Survey Methods for Early Childhood Research
  • Qualitative Visual Methods
  • Focus Groups to Inform Practice and Policy
  • Single-Case Research Design (SCRD)
  • Integrating Mixed Methods and Participatory Approaches
  • Translating Research into Practice and Policy

Objectives

As a result of active participation and successful completion of course requirements, students will be able to:

  • Design rigorous research studies using quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-method approaches.
  • Apply advanced analytic techniques to interpret findings and inform decision-making.
  • Critically evaluate methodological choices for cultural responsiveness and ethical integrity.
  • Translate research into practical recommendations for early childhood intervention programs and policies.
